The Clever Dripper: Your Lazy Morning Lifesaver

If your ideal morning involves slow starts, minimal effort, and maximum reward, the Clever Dripper is the perfect brewer for you. This little genius combines the best of both worlds—immersion brewing like a French Press and the clean finish of a pour-over—without any of the hassle.

No need for complicated pouring techniques or perfect timing. Just add, stir, wait, and enjoy. Here’s our tried-and-true method for getting the most out of your Clever Dripper with almost no work required.

What You’ll Need

• Clever Dripper

• Filter (Melitta #4 or similar)

• 20g freshly ground coffee (medium to medium-fine)

• 300g water heated to 96°C

• Stirring spoon

• Timer

• Your favorite mug or carafe

Step-by-Step: The Lazy Morning Clever Dripper Recipe

☕ Step 1: Rinse the Filter

Place the filter in the Clever Dripper and rinse it with hot water. This warms the brewer and removes any papery taste.

🔥 Step 2: Heat Water & Grind Coffee

Heat 300g of water to 96°C, and grind 20g of coffee to a medium-fine consistency—similar to table salt.

💧 Step 3: Combine Coffee & Water

Pour the water into the Clever Dripper first, then add the ground coffee. This helps prevent dry clumps and makes for a smoother mix.

🌀 Step 4: Stir It Up

Stir the mixture gently but thoroughly to make sure all the coffee grounds are wet. Then place the lid on and set a 2-minute timer. Let it brew undisturbed.

⏱️ Step 5: Stir Again & Settle

After 2 minutes, give it another stir to help the grounds settle to the bottom evenly. Wait 30 more seconds for the bed to settle.

⬇️ Step 6: Release the Magic

Place your Clever Dripper on top of your mug or server. The valve automatically opens, and the coffee drains like magic. This final step takes about 1 minute.
